Formed in 1872, Hamilton Golf Club moved to its present location on the outskirts of the town in 1925 when James Braid was enlisted to lay out a new course for the members at its Riccarton site. Despite a small number of enhancements over the years, Braid’s original design remains largely intact. At 6,452 yards from the back tees the course is an enjoyable challenge in picturesque settings with one of the very best layouts in the West of Scotland. Hamilton Golf Club has some of the most well-manicured greens and immaculate fairways in the area and will prove a challenge to any golfer with the strategically placed bunkers and the odd blind tee shot. The fantastic facilities at Hamilton will make it easy to warm up before your round with Hamilton boasting four driving bays and a short game area. As part of your day, experience first class hospitality in our fully refurbished clubhouse. Over the years, Hamilton has had the distinction of hosting various prestigious events; these have included the British Blind Open in 2013, the International Childrens’ Games in 2011 and Ladies Home Internationals in 1992. In 2025 the course will host Scottish Golf’s Scottish Boys’ Area Team Championship as well as the regional Medal Championship. In 2026 the club is proud to host the prestigious Scottish Girls’ U16 Open Championship. Hamilton Golf Club is a must for all golfers
