Not too far from the home of golf: St. Andrews, is Elie Golf Links - one of the most established courses in Scotland. Originally opened in 1875, the venue boasts excellent views of the Fife Fourth and the James Braid designed course provides challenging and charming golf. The club has undergone a £1.2 million refurbishment and has a main dining area, function rooms and male and female changing rooms. Be sure to use the practice areas and putting greens before heading out to the first tee. Like most links courses, the coastal weather will come into play during your game while playing the James Braid designed Elie Golf Course, and no more so than the signature 13th named Croupie. Although only 380 yards, this par 4 has a dogleg from left to right running alongside the beach that requires an iron or 3 wood from the tee position. Great natural undulations and the lie of the land around the greens make for interesting short game play. Bunkers play a major part in your round as they are carefully placed along the fairways as well as guarding the greens.
